Day 75- 11.30.20

Yes, love

There's an army of defenders

emboldened by mercy to

advocate for good people

who've done bad things--allegedly.

If I ever were to battle, it wouldn't be

with a rifle or a dagger, but with a pen

and paper, with a reckoning of action

and the nuanced understanding

of circumstance.

If I should die on the battlefield,

let it be in the arena within which these souls romp,

these folks who get up, drink coffee, then stand their ground

in the name of justice, in the name of righteousness,

in the perfect name of kindness,

of the benefit of the doubt and

yes, love.
